Welcome to the Ku-ring-gai Horticultural Society website
We hope you find it attractive and informative. We are keen to encourage you to extend your gardening activities, perhaps from a small beginning, because gardening can be a source of much pleasure as well as providing healthy exercise. This is your invitation to enjoy learning about gardening with friends.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month except January, at St Ives Village Hall, Memorial Avenue, St Ives (opp. Woolworths). Come at 7.00 pm for an 7.30pm start.
The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 7 August. Our speaker will be George Hoad, President of Garden Clubs of Australia. George is a very entertaining speaker and he would like to tell us about gardens he has visited that have inspired him. It should be a most informative talk. Our member speaker will be Margaret Watts who will tell us about the interesting life of Margaret Davis. Margaret Davis was the founding member of Garden Clubs of Australia and was the person who first suggested planting a living memorial to the Australian soldiers of the World War II - the Remembrance Driveway between Sydney and Canberra. This should be a great opportunity to learn more about the life of this interesting woman.
The Ku-ring-gai Horticultural Society covers the suburbs of Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, Gordon, Pymble, Turramurra, Warrawee, Wahroonga and St Ives, but we welcome members from any surrounding suburbs.
Visitors are always welcome!
We wish to thank the Ku-ring-gai Council for its support in the creation of this website.
